Meet the face behind the name

Have you ever needed to get a job done but weren’t quite sure of who to ask and secondly, when you find someone’s name what they will exactly be like?

Do you feel comfortable inviting them into your house? Do you think they will be able to do the job that you need?

All of these questions are very real. So, it’s my desire to try and introduce ‘Anthony Halley’ to you in the safety of your own space. And then for you to make a decision as to whether you like the look and general vibe of ‘Anthony Halley’.

The video runs for just under 6 min.

Enjoy… and let me know your comments.

Entertaining Decks

This deck was constructed over a much smaller concrete landing. The owner requested that the deck follow the lay of the garden and that the cypress pine decking boards be laid at a 45* angle.

This helped break the deck out of the standard rectangle design and move it to the next level. Allowing the garden to act as a natural ’fence’ during the day created a feeling of being close to nature and with the installion of several lighting bollards around the edge really set the deck off during the evening.

At the end of the job the deck had turned an awkward front yard into a natural flowing entertaining area.

This overhead view shows how nature and construction can be used to compliment each other. Building the deck right up to the garden edge helped create a ‘natural’ boundary or fence line for the decking.

Garage Converted

Transformed this cluttered double garage into a well organised contemporary looking office space.I constructed a raised timber floor area to reduce any possible water damage that may occur from a flooded garage, since the house was on the low side of the street and had previously succumbed to water problems. I also waterproofed and sealed the front entrance to prevent any water from getting close to entering into the garage.

“Why not transform that cluttered garage or spare room into an office or rumpus room?”

The wall frames were constructed on site and the gyprock and cornice  were installed and finished off with plaster.

A floating timber floor was put down to add a hard durable surface but also to add warmth and character to the office space.
Several wall cupboards and desks were installed along with an air conditioner to help bring the whole area into a very comfortable, yet practical work area.

Bamboo sexiness

Transformed an old red brick garage wall into an exotic tropical hide away using beautiful bamboo.

The central feature is a classic carved framed mirror that is set off by some lovely Bonsai plants and evenly spaced lanterns that all help create that relaxed feel.

Once you look at the before and after, there is no comparison.
